A MOTHERING Sunday with a difference took place at St Andrew's Church in Bere Ferrers. It was an informal Gateway Service where the congregation was split into two teams of men and women to design a perfect mother. Ideas included wise words, multi-tasking, big heart and hands, shoulders to cry on, a mother who loves you and always has time for you. During the service the children wrapped presents for their mothers. This was followed by the traditional distribution of bunches of narcissi to all the women, provided by Alan Langsford of Denham, along with pots of violas.
