Peninsula South Western League division one West Penryn Athletic 7 Callington Town 1 THE last two games for Callington have shown everyone associated with the club how far the team has come from the dark days of August, but also how far they still have to travel as they were trounced by their high flying hosts —conceding the same number of goals they had scored last Saturday in the process. The omens were not good for Callington even before the match started, with influential captain and central defender Chris Canham pulling up in the warm up and both Dan Pethick and Thomas Drinka reporting illnesses to the by now beleagured Town manager Micky Hunt.  Striker Darren Woolley dropped back to the back four to replace Canham while Pethick was able to take a place on the bench.  There was no such escape for their Slovakian keeper, however, who had to take his place between the sticks and, with only 90 seconds gone, was picking the ball out of the net as Dave Rabone beat him to a through ball to score. On the quarter hour Penryn doubled their lead when another long ball caught the makeshift Callington defence out and Dale Band converted.  A piece of individual skill from Mike Norman in the 18th minute gave Town some hope shortly afterwards as he ran through the Penryn defence from the halfway line before firing home. Callington's optimism was, however, shortlived as a second strike from Band and a double from Ashley Bradshaw before the break gave the home side a 5- 1 interval lead. Early in the second half Bradshaw got his hat trick and he was followed, late on, by Band who got his third and Penryn's seventh, from the penalty spot, to complete the rout. l Callington are at home to Penzance to Ginsters Marshfield Parc.
