TAVISTOCK dominated possession in this first round match and creating most of the opportunities in the first 30 minutes. The central midfield duo of Ryan Moorhead and Sam Northmore impressed with their precision.
It was Teignmouth however who took the lead five minutes before half-time when a long range shot was misjudged by goalkeeper David Milligan and crept inside the post. Tavistock responded to equalise within two minutes, when Sam Hicks latched onto a through ball to strike across the goalkeeper into the far corner.
Into the second half and Tavistock continued to have the edge and deservedly took a 2-1 lead when a good ball over the top of the defence was met by Matt Davidson who coolly lobbed the ball over the oncoming goalkeeper and into the net.
With 10 minutes to go Teignmouth equalised with a long range effort. In the dying seconds a Dan Quick for Tavistock was well saved by the Teignmouth.
With no goals after extra time the game went into penalties. Aaron Northmore proved to be the hero with two penalty saves and Matt Davidson stepped up to put the ball into the top corner to win the game for Tavistock.
Tavistock will now play at Devonport High for Boys in the last 16.
