LTL says communication is a basic human right and everyone should have access to the necessary support to enable effective communication and active participation in society. Communication enables us to be individuals and to make our wishes and feelings known, to form lasting and meaningful relationships and to demonstrate our identity.
LTL set up their business in light of current changes to the NHS and is working closely with UCP Marjon. There is a growing need for speech and language therapy as the NHS waiting lists grow longer.
Lord Burnett, a former Royal Marine and MP for West Devon and Torridge from 1997 to 2005, said: 'I have met and been greatly impressed by the LTL team.
'One of the consequences of modern life can be a tendency to greater social isolation and also a dependence on electronic media.
'Some people need help to overcome speech and other social difficulties.
'Communication in its various forms is vital to achieving a fulfilling life. I am delighted to support LTL and wish them every success.'
