Yelverton 2nd XI v Heathcoat 2nd XI
AFTER winning the toss and starting to bat, Yelverton's batsmen took full advantage of an excellent batting strip and scored freely, Wollington and Sandell putting on 107 for the second wicket.
After Wollington went, quickly followed by Gould, the fourth wicket pair of Sandell and Pennington took Yelverton to within sight of the 200 mark.
Following the run out of Sandell, Pennington was joined by skipper Pearson and they safely saw Yelverton to maximum batting bonus points. Some forceful blows by Pearson eventually saw Yelverton total 232-5 off 46 overs.
Heathcoat's reply started slowly but first-teamer Vanstone gradually picked up the pace and dealt out punishment to all the Yelverton bowlers. With good support from Hawkins, Heathcoat passed Yelverton's total for the loss of only two wickets, with two overs to go.
Despite losing, Yelverton skipper Pearson was pleased with his side's overall performance.
