AS part of healthcare initiatives to give a greater voice to patients, the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital?s Patient and Public Involvement Forum will be holding its next public meeting next month. The forum will meet on Friday, October 7, and everyone is welcome to attend. The meeting takes place between 11am-1pm, in St. Boniface Room, Sacred Heart Parish Pastoral Centre, Cardinal Newman House, Wonford Road, Exeter. The forum consists of local volunteers who are independent from the Hospital Trust. They address healthcare issues for the Mid Devon area, among others, and review and monitor services provided by the RD&E Hospital. Currently, the forum is looking closely at the RD&E?s breast screening service and carers? issues, as well as hygiene and hospital acquired infections such as MRSA and Norwalk.
