THE established community choir, Patchwork, starts its new session on September 23 at the Kingdon House Community Centre, Tavistock.

Meeting every Tuesday starting at 7.30pm, the choir is suitable for anyone who would like to sing and is led by Joanna Wren, an experienced singer and voice teacher.

Joanna is a member of the Natural Voice Practitioners' Network and believes that singing is a pleasure that can be enjoyed by everyone, even those who have been told that they cannot sing.

There are no auditions and everyone is welcome to come and see for themselves how enjoyable singing can be. The group would particularly welcome bass singers as the songs they sing would sound even better than they do now if they had some really low voices.

Patchwork has performed to enthusiastic audiences at the monthly Acoustic Café in Tavistock, at the recent Tamar Valley Festival and at the annual Choirs Convention in Bristol.

The group likes to sing, laugh and have a good time and if you would like further details, please phone Joanna on 01822 853539, or better still, just come along and give it a try.
