TAVISTOCK Golf Club ladies?s section held the Express and Echo foursomes on April 8. The competition was won by Pat Hoar and Norma Thewlis who go through to the finals at Exeter GC in September. Runners-up were Kerry Gawman and Nicky Gawman.
In the Mail on Sunday competition the Tavistock ladies continued their success with a recent win against Teignmouth (away). Round 4 will be a home match against Torquay.
Victoria Coe and Bev Ruth beat Teign Valley at Wrangaton in the first round of the Doris Willes Little foursomes competition. Their next round will be against Manor House at Teignmouth.
Despite the forecast on Tuesday April 29 the rain held off to make Wendy Hanwell?s Captain?s Prize Day a very successful day for the 68 ladies who took part.

In the April stableford: 1 silver Maggie Hillman (36 pts); 1 bronze div 2 Gloria Westhead (44 pts) and 1 div 2 Sally Timpson (40 pts); Fran Horton was the only Twos winner.
Results of the stableford, held on May 6 were 1 silver Rosemary Cook (39 pts); 1 div 2 Jenny Bryant (36 pts); div 3 Chris Kelly (39 pts); Twos winners: Rosemary Cook and Lynn Swift.
On Friday, Tavistock beat Stover 6-1 at home in the first match of the DCLGA Scratch competition.
