THE SUCCESS of performances by Tavistock Primary School pupils at the recent Dickensian night may have had something to do with all the pasties they consumed!

The year three pupils, who were dressed up in period costume, had only rehearsed three times —but they were spot-on as they recited their two times tables and Merry Christmas at different locations in the town.

The children had been recruited by Angels Childminding and Private Tuition Services to add to the evening's entertainment and in just a few days of getting the children together, parents, teachers and Angels staff managed to pull it off.

As well as the children the other 'star' of the show was the Original Pasty Shop, who kept the children going with 'Turkey and Cranberry' pasties and the adults with mulled wine.

Maureen Fivash of Angels has expressed thanks to everyone who helped prior to and during the evening.
