A 'STRONG' year was reported at the recent annual meeting of the Okehampton Conservative Club. The meeting was held at the end of February, when the prospective Conservative parliamentary candidate for Central Devon, Mel Stride, gave an address. Mr Stride said: 'Our campaign is going well at all levels. Over the last two months we have recruited over 100 additional volunteers in Okehampton alone.' Jayne Hill, the association treasurer, reported that Okehampton Conservatives had a successful financial year, raising more than £25,000 with a greater level of funding expected in the year ahead.
