IF you live in the parish of Buckland Monachorum and have a passion for your community, you could become a parish councillor.

A casual vacancy has arisen on Buckland Monachorum Parish Council and parishioners are being invited to get in touch if they are interested in joining the council.

It currently consists of eleven councillors, all of whom live locally and volunteer their time to support the parish.

No special qualifications are needed although there is a qualifying criteria, but a commitment of a few hours every month is required.

It involves council meetings, reading council papers on parish matters and catching up with local residents.
