Bodmin Trophies Duchy division 2 cup semi-final, second leg Lamerton 1 Dobwalls 1 (5-4 aet) THIS second leg produced a high class game, despite heavy conditions underfoot. Lamerton began the brighter and had several good chances with Lee Wickett having a good effort saved by the Dobwalls keeper who made more good saves in the first half. The second half began well for Lamerton and they took the lead early on when Kev Swift fed Dan Healy in the box. He slid the ball past keeper Carl Roberts into the far corner of the net. The visitors came back well and with 20 minutes left a far post header levelled the scores. Both sides had good chances to wrap the game up in the last five minutes but it finished level and went into a penalty shoot-out. After five penalties the score was 4-4 with Graham Cole, Paul Cowling, Dave Byworth and Kev Swift all converting for the home side. With the light fading Pete Daniel saved the sixth penalty and it was left to Panda Williams to hammer in the winning goal which takes Lamerton into a final against Polperro. Bodmin Trophies Duchy division 2 Lamerton 2 Delabole 1 LAMERTON returned to league action against a Delabole side needing one point to avoid relegation and they made hard work of securing victory. They dominated possession but the first goal was proving elusive. James Healy broke through and chipped the keeper and the ball came back off the crossbar but Steve Wickett put the resulting header just wide. Wickett broke the deadlock when he beat the keeper following good work by Pete Broomfield, who was again provider when Kev Swift got the second. In the second half a rare Delabole break saw Sean Phillips pull a goal back due to an uncharacteristic Pete Daniel error and Lamerton struggled to kill off the game, despite hitting the woodwork on several occasions and being thwarted by some good goalkeeping. This Saturday away to Polperro in the league, kick-off 2.30pm.
