YELVERTON Golf Club ladies held the Peugeot Coronation foursomes qualifier in a Stableford competition. Sue Pearman and Christine Longden won with 37 points and go through to the regional final in Lyme Regis on July 26 (best 100 scores for each area final).

The Cyril Baker cup was presented by Mrs Hilda Baker in 1969 in memory of her husband, Cyril. The handicap is limited to 24 and under with the first best scores scores qualify for the draw, thereafter knockout matchplay decides the winner. In division one the winner was Trudi Luke with a nett 77, second Di Reardon, nett 79; in division two the winner was Annie Hosken, nett 76, second Carolyn Crawford, nett 77. The eight qualifiers for the Cyril Baker Challenge Cup are; Trudi Luke, Di Reardon, Sue Pearman, Penny Hunter, Carolyn Crawford, Annette Sweeney, Barbara Collier and Gilly Jarvis.
