CHRISTMAS kicks off in style in Callington on Saturday, with a full programme of events from early until late.

The Christmas craft fair starts at 10am in the town hall and there will be handbell ringers and the junior town band performing. Santa's Grotto will be open from 10am to 4pm and all children from the parish up to the age of 11 will get a free present. People are urged to get their tickets from the town hall in advance to book their time slot, so long queues can be avoided.

The switch on of the Christmas lights is at 5pm in St Mary's Close by Bob McCreadie of Pirate FM and there will be carol singing and the town band playing.
