Devon Junior Cup Angus Colville Shield U13s Devonport Services U13s 24 Okehampton U13s 0 WITH Devonport unbeaten in two years this was always going to be a tough game for Okehampton. The Okes dominated the first half with the back line of James Ewen, Andy North, Darcy Heard and Luke Miller putting Services under considerable pressure behind the gain line. The forwards also had the upper hand in the scrums, and competed well in rucks and mauls. The Okes crossed the line four times but resolute Devonport prevented the ball from being grounded, and it was against the run of play that the home side scored two breakaway tries to lead 12 - 0 at the break. The second half saw Devonport raise their game, using their powerful forwards to make good yardage. Some last ditch defence by Tom Gill, Kevin Dennis and Cameron Rickerby kept the home side out. Devonport eventually managed to cross the line twice more. Okehampton however can be justly proud of their performance with every player contributing to a very entertaining game.
