A MINUTE?s silence was held in memory of Robin Fenner, who sadly died on October 29.
The game was never going to be easy with Isca Vikings sitting third in the Premier Division. Tavistock kept up with the fast pace, keeping the game even with good play from both teams for the first 20 minutes, but Isca finally cracked the Tavistock defence and opened up the score sheet.
Tavistock fought back, but Isca kept them from scoring. Isca?s fast pace and good ball skills saw them score two more goals bringing the score to 3-0 at half time.
The second half saw the team fighting back, but tired legs and lack of experience started to show. Attacking Isca scored another six goals in the second half, but superb work from Tavistock?s keeper, Gemma Russan, kept the score from going into double figures.
Tavistock battled to the final whistle. Player of the match was split three ways to Gemma Russan, Kirsty Jones and Kate Atkinson.
A big thank you went to the Mary Tavy Inn which provided food for the teams at short notice a d to Mark Stephens who prepared the pitch for the game.
This Sunday Tavistock Ladies are home to Plymouth University, 2pm kick-off.
