MOUNT Kelly this week said students had performed ‘outstandingly well’ in their A-Level examinations.

Thirty six percent of all papers were awarded either an A* or A grade, with 12% being awarded the top A* grade. The school said this as a ‘wonderful achievement’ considering the fall in the number of A* and A grades awarded nationally (25.9%).

Headmaster Mark Semmence said: ‘I am delighted that the Mount Kelly upper sixth have, once again, achieved a fantastic set of A-Level results. This reflects the commitment and hard work of our pupils and the huge efforts made by all our staff. Well done to all.’

Amy Lloyd achieved an A* grade in maths and biology and an A in both chemistry and economics and business, securing her place at the University of Bath. Georgia Donnelly achieved an A* in biology and A’s in history and chemistry which has enabled her to pursue her dream to become a vet. Headgirl Lauren Ross and Jordan Shakespeare have both been accepted to Exeter University.
