THE Old School Children's Centre at Whitchurch is celebrating after receiving a glowing Ofsted report.
The centre, which celebrated its 20th year last August, was found to be of exceptionally high quality in every area. The Old School's strong leadership and management supported the outstanding overall quality of the provision and highly trained, reflective and well informed staff were found to take an active role in monitoring the quality of outcomes for the children in their care. Parent's views are highly valued and listened to, with changes incorporated to support their needs and the needs of their families.
As a result, the setting 'demonstrates an excellent capacity for ongoing improvement in order to sustain their extremely high standards'.
The report highlighted that the needs of each individual child were met 'extremely well'.
Children were found to 'make excellent progress and enjoy a safe, secure and stimulating environment that is organised immensely effectively to promote learning in all areas'.
Children with special educational needs were found to 'benefit from the immensely effective professional relationships with other agencies that provide individual support and well focused planning for individual children's progress'.
The report also found that children's welfare, learning and development were supported extremely well.
Safeguarding of all children was found to be a particular strength and safety procedures and risk assessments were 'excellent'.
Overall, the quality of the provision at The Old School Children's Centre was judged 'exceptionally high' in all areas, with Grade 1 Outstanding achieved throughout.
