A GAP year helping orphans in Africa is a once in a lifetime opportunity for 18-year-old Jenny Weale. Jenny, who works at Mansbridge and Balment in Tavistock, is to set out on the journey next year with two friends, Emma Knight, 18, and Hannah Rowe, 18. But in order for their dreams to become reality they need to raise around £900 each and appeal for any help in reaching this amount before they leave for their destination on January 16, 2008. The girls have already conducted assemblies at their old school, Plymouth College, for Years 7 to 11, promoting what they are doing and asking the students to collect baby clothes and toys for them to take out to Africa.
