I NOTED with interest the letter (July 13) sent in by Norna Beadle about the town square.

Does she know that there have been several letters and I have written two voicing this opinion on the subject.

I also read that the Mainly Music Shop is to close, one of the reasons given is the decline in trade. That makes three valued shops that have closed so far.

No doubt planning permission would be rightly refused to change any part of our historic Duke of Bedford cottages. Who gave planning permission to deface our historic town square?

Re the 'enhancement', the controversy over the 'ill thought out plan' as quoted by our Euro MP Giles Chichester, has been going on for months.

I do hope, for the sake of our picturesque town, that Norna Beadle's letter will not be ignored as ours have been.
