SCREENINGS to assess the risk of osteoporosis will be available at Okehampton Town Hall on Monday March 19.
Osteoporosis is a disease in which bones become fragile and more likely to break. If not prevented or if left untreated, osteoporosis can progress painlessly until a bone breaks.
If detected early enough, osteoporosis can be prevented. Such detection scans for risk of future fracture are not routinely available on the NHS. The scan and fracture risk assessment at the town hall costs £22. There will be sessions available from 9am to 1pm.
For further information and to book an appointment, call Healthcare Screening on 0845 224 6784.
