REGULAR Okehampton Farmers? Market stallholder Holsworthy Organics is one of 100 businesses in the UK to be recognised in the Soil Association?s Organic Food Awards 2002.
The company, which is based at Pyworthy, won ?Box Scheme of the Year?.
Chefs Sophie Grigson, Rose Gray (River Café) and the wine journalist Charles Metcalf were among the 70-strong judging panel who helped decide the winners from more than 1,100 entries.
Patrick Holden, director of the Soil Association said: ?Organic food is becoming more popular each year and our awards seek out the very best organic produce and companies throughout the country.
?In response to the huge interest in the awards, we added more categories this year and I hope as many people as possible will have the chance to try out some of these excellent organic foods in the coming months.?
The Soil Association?s Organic Food Awards have been running for 17 years.
