TWO keen young musicians who are pulling the stops out on a 'musicthon' to raise money for the Children's Society will present a Grand Organ concert at Okehampton Parish Church on Wednesday (July 17).

Tim Silvester and Matthew Penn are travelling from John O'Groats to Lands End and playing a total of 20 fund-raising concerts en route.

Okehampton Parish Church organist Ian Cann was approached by the players, who are both studying at Leeds University and are both keen musicians.

'The know we have a good organ at our church and they thought it would be a good venue,' said Mr Cann.

'I was delighted because I want to help young students to further their career. Also it is a good cause.'

Tim and Matthew — who live in the Midlands — have worked on many musical projects before but this is their biggest venture to date.

The concert at Okehampton Parish Church is at 7.30pm.
