Ordulph Arms 6
Horrabridge B 0
THE Ordulph Arms were determined to avenge the heavy defeat inflicted upon them by their rivals in the penultimate game of last season.
The game was tight for the first 15 minutes but Horrabridge were killed off in a 15 minute onslaught from the hosts which saw them head into the break leading 5-0.
Ben Stephens claimed his third hat-trick in only four games; he opened the scoring by expertly chesting the ball down and drilling home from close range. Paul Hoskin rifled home the second from the edge of the box with the help of a deflection that looped the ball over the keeper. Stephens then added his second with a superb left footed strike from a tight angle which flew past the keeper.
Horrabridge could not live with the Ordulph's strike force who seemed to score every time they had a shot on goal.
James Aggis, who seems to have a taste for scoring lately, soon added the fourth with a close range tap in. Stephens then added the fifth before the break to complete his hat-trick turning in the box and beating the keeper at his near post with a left foot shot.
Horrabridge, to their credit, came out fighting in the second half and created a few chances but the Ordulph defence held firm. The game was still open and the home side were counter attacking well as Horrabridge were pushing men forward.
The match finished with James Coole scoring from close range after substitute Daniel Behennah had done some good work out on the left wing after coming on.
Ordulph now have won all their four games scoring an impressive 24 goals during that time and have conceded five.
