Exeter Chiefs 12 Tavistock U13s 5 TAVISTOCK came up against some big opposition on Sunday in Exeter and acquitted themselves very well. Things did not start well when the kick off ball found its way to a large Exeter prop who ran straight through a sleepy Tavistock defence. That was the wake up call and for the rest of the half Tavistock dominated the game keeping Exeter in their own half with a series of multi phase attacks. Full back Jack Haigh combined with Sam Lynsey on the wing to move the ball to within striking distance on several occasions. After the turn around Tavistock continued to move the ball around well and the pin point tackling from Mark Friend and Callum Thompson kept Exeter out. The Chiefs finally scored again with a well worked try run in from halfway. Tavistock?s fighting spirit finally paid off when the front row won a strike against the head 5 metres out giving scrum half Philip Snell the chance he had been waiting for down his favourite blind side to pull one back before the whistle. A fair result against a much improved side. On Sunday the under 13s stay local with a derby at Okehampton.
