DO READERS realise BT Cellnet are planning to plant, sorry build, a tree mast on the Leawood Estate at Bridestowe on the edge of Dartmoor?
The Dartmoor National Park Authority decided against granting permission for the mast.
This tree mast would have antennae and dishes added to it and a small building below which would be fenced.
BT Cellnet have now appealed against the decision and it has gone to the Secretary of State to decide.
If you have a view of this, you should write to the Planning Inspectorate, Department of the Environment, Room 1015, Tollgate House, Houlton Street, Bristol BS2 9DJ quoting J9497/A/01/1059196.
I thought the idea of putting up a mobile phone mast in the shape of a tree was to hide the mast but putting dishes on it will look silly.
Also the siting of this mast will be seen from the open moor. Places like the wild Great Links Tor and Great Noddon.
Readers may like to know the other tree mast which was built near Moretonhampstead lost some of its branches last autumn.
Is this a common thing with tree masts?
