THE annual Okehampton charity motorbike ride and party is here again, raising money for Hospiscare and the National Association for Bikers with a Disability.

Chris Hodgson, who is involved with the event, said: 'This charity fundraising weekend is becoming more and more popular with motor bike riders in and around Okehampton, and focuses on the charity ride out on Saturday complete with the after-ride party.'

Events for the bike ride will take place from Friday June 3 to Sunday June 5. The weekend starts on Friday night at Bracken Tor House on Station Road,

The evening will be a relaxed affair with live acoustic music, food and drinks. Camping is available on site for £20 per person for the whole weekend, including breakfast.

The fundraiser kicks off the following Saturday morning with the annual ride out. Motorbikes will be leaving from the London Inn at 11am, travelling to Boscastle for lunch, before the return trip home.

Chris said: 'This ride out is becoming more and more popular and is a great introduction to the social side of motor biking while raising money for good causes.' The fee for each bike on the ride-out is £5.

After the riders return to Bracken Tor House, there will be a fundraising party on Saturday evening. A friendly gathering with live music, barbecue and a licensed bar, everyone is welcome, regardless of your biking credentials!

A mini bus service from the post office to Bracken Tor house will run from 6.30pm through to 9pm.

Entry to the party costs £3.

Local favourites First Requiem and Rock Salmon will be among an array of bands playing throughout the evening. The live music starts at 7pm, and will continue long into the night.
