TAVISTOCK Area Support Services (TASS) is appealing for volunteer drivers to help meet the demand for its voluntary car service.
TASS has, over the last five years, developed a voluntary car service to help local people get to their health appointments.
The last year has seen the number of people using the service increase by more than 100%.
The charity now needs to recruit new volunteer drivers to help meet the increase in demand placed upon the service.
Winston Martin, who has driven for TASS as a volunteer for the last year, said: 'I found myself with time on my hands after retiring and decided to help others through volunteering to become a volunteer driver.
'I have made new friends, been to places I never knew existed and from driving just a few hours a week, I now drive every other day helping others to get to and from their medical appointments.
'It has given me a new lease of life!'
TASS would like to hear from anyone who could spare just a couple of hours a week or even a month.
