A MARRIAGE course organised by Tavistock Methodist Church will provide couples with the tools to build a strong and healthy marriage.
Among the topics addressed over the six-week course will be the encouragement to see couples make time for each other.
This will include couples putting aside time in their diaries to do things together, such as for a meal out or a walk on Dartmoor — enabling them to discover the importance of making space to share with one another.
Christopher's, the Bedford Hotel, the Ordulph, the Mary Tavy Inn, the Peter Tavy Inn and the Royal Standard have shown their support by providing venues for couples to plan the first of what is hoped will be many dates for their diaries. The businesses will also offer food vouchers, which will be given to couples at the end of the course.
Topics covered over the six evenings will include recognising each other's needs, learning to communicate effectively, resolving conflict, healing past hurt, and making time for each other and having fun.
The course is for any married couple who want to build a strong and lasting relationship.
The course, while based on Christian principles, is for any couple with or without Christian faith or church background.
The fee is £20 per couple for the course, which will be held every Wednesday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, starting on Wednesday, October 15.
