THE delight of members of Okehampton Bowling Club at the opening of their green for the 2016 season was dampened by the unexpected news of the passing of Richard Hearne.

Richard was a well liked member of the club and will be missed by all. The thoughts of the club are with Sue and the family at this sad time.

With a full programme of matches the bowlers will be kept busy this year with friendly games virtually every weekend from the end of April until well into September.

The club will be hosting Newquay and Mylor Bridge along with Bude and Stratton from Cornwall whilst they will be travelling to Porthleven for the first time. There will also be many games home and away against many teams from Devon clubs.

Both the ladies and men will be contesting their own triples league. The men will also be taking part in the Exeter and District Rinks league. On top of these games the men will be entering three teams into the Over Sixties leagues.
