Okehampton 14

Crediton 40

OKEHAMPTON 1sts travelled to Crediton in the belief that they could win away and make it two out of two against the league leaders.

A rejuvenated Crediton pack and forceful play by their big scrum half saw Okehampton deprived of most of the possession.

The little clean ball won was not used creatively, as is the hallmark of this year's squad, and defending valiantly but for too long saw the pressure tell and Crediton take the match convincingly.

Unavailability of Ian Scrivener and Steve Alford was felt but the return of Rob Jordan in his first match this season was welcomed.

The ever-reliable Arnie Searle made certain of three penalties and Colin Ewen scored a late try to deprive Crediton of having it all their own way.

Okes are disappointed but not downcast as the belief is that this result can and will be reversed on the return leg.
