WHETHER or not you can dance, the Okehampton Tea Dance is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, once a month.

New dates for the spring and summer have been announced and the first of them is this Sunday, April 24, in the Conservative Club.

There will be music, much of it from the 1940s to 60s, there will be expert tuition if it’s wanted, there will be friendly company and of course there will be tea and cakes.

Ali Fife Cook, who organises the Tea Dances for Time for Life, said: ‘There’s no pressure to dance, if you want to stand and sway to the music that’s fine, if you just want to listen to the music that’s fine too. If you’d like to learn some of the dances then have a go, or if you are a good dancer then the ballroom floor is a perfect space.’

Time for Life is an enabling and social service for those not so young in years, but everyone is welcome at the Tea Dance with no age restriction.
