Okehampton 6

AFTER winning their first three league games Okehampton were hoping to continue their superb start with a fourth straight win.

The game started slowly with possession being given away cheaply by both sides.

Okehampton eventually started to gain confidence and keep the ball a lot better and it seemed only a matter of time before they found the net; however, it took 20 minutes before they finally broke the deadlock. This came from a fine attacking move which featured six Okehampton players before Luke Miller's fine run down the right resulted in a ball across the area for the returning Chris Luxton to slot home.

Growing more confident the visitors looked more dangerous and then got a second when a superb team move aloud Mark Parsons to find Joff Stephens who passed the ball into an empty net. Only 2-0 at half time and Okehampton were cruising,

In the second half Mark Parsons and James Rogers both hit the post before Parsons scored from a short corner to extend the away teams lead. A not fully fit Nick Luxton did extremely well to play through the pain and he was rewarded when he found Chris Luxton who got his second.

Josh Speak then went on a flying run through the middle and although his shot was well saved it fell straight to the impressive James Rogers to get the fifth.

Luke Miller added a sixth and but for some excellent defending from the hosts the scoreline could have been a lot worse.

Okehampton continues to look impressive in this new league and remain top of the league with four wins out of four.

Man of the match Joff Stephens.
