OKEHAMPTON started brightly with some quick movement of the ball out to Jordan Cornthwaite who ran down the wing to score; this was converted by Liam Wilkins.
Possession and territory were all Okes' and the second try was scored by Dean Folland after captain Josh Bush won the ball in a line out and passed it down to Dean to run it in. Not long after Oke moved the ball out to Luke Dennis who scored in the opposite corner. Tavistock were struggling with the pressure and a further Oke try came following a good run by Josh, who supported by James Balch and Deane Andrew, passed inside to Dean Folland just outside Tavistocks 22 for Dean to run in his second try. A scrum on Tavistock's five yard line saw Oke's Conor Kendrew picked up the at the back of the scrum and forced his way over the line. Luke scored his second try with a fine run through from the centre. The half finished with a try and Deane who collected the ball from Conor to cross the line giving Oke a 41-0 lead at half time.
More tries for Oke came in second half the first by Marcus Garratt. Tavistock broke through the Oke defence and scored a try which they were unable to convert. Steven Paul then scored the final try and Oke which Will Copp converted giving Oke a 55-5 win.

Barnstaple U16s 12
IN this top of the table clash Oke put pressure on Barnstaple from the start. Okes Jordan Cornthwaite who saw a gap in the defence and ran through to score the first try; Barnstaple equalised before Jordan scored his second try. Barnstaple responded with their second try and a conversion to give them a 12-10 lead.
With some really good team play and individual play Oke controlled most of the second half - from the strong rucking over the ball by Marcus Garratt and Daniel Lee and breaking through the opponents lines by Will Copp to tackling by Dean Folland. The high lifting of Conor Kendrew and Josh Bush in the line outs put pressure on the Barnstaple scrum half.
With 15 minutes to go James Balch scored Okes' third try to give Oke a 15-12 lead which they held through to the end. The whole team played really well and all played their part in this deserved win.
This win made Oke the Exeter University North and West league winners and gives them a home game against Sidmouth next Sunday who came second in the South and East league.
