Launceston U11s 5

Okehampton U11s 35

THIS was a first run out after the summer break for the U11s. New rules and player additions meant that the game began scrappily with a large Launceston pack taking the game to the Okes. However, once the visitors began to settle into their stride they emerged clear winners after a performance of much promise.

This was a five try to one victory which was pleasing on the eye and a good all round team effort. Leading the way in the try stakes this week were Ollie Ardon and Greg Daniel with a brace apiece. Like the rapier and the bludgeon, their contrasting styles both brought well deserved rewards. Newly appointed kicker Jack Ogbourne showed great promise with a 100 per cent record of five successful conversions.

Apart from one weak spell of missed tackles that resulted in a try for the hosts, the Okes can come away heartened and enthusiastic for the visit this week of a large Barnstaple side who always provide a stern test.
