OKEHAMPTON Squash Club second team lost their home game, 3-2, against a strong top of the table Exeter Golf and Country Club side. 

Despite having their full strength side out for the first time this season, the team lost the match in the top string positions. Both Shawn Jones and Simon McKinnel who won their respective matches 3-0. At string three, Shane Vallance went down 3-1 and Chris Law lost 0-3; and with string one Ed Bewes narrowly losing Okehampton Okehampton just lost out.  However the team has competed well and in the middle of the table.

The first team won their league game against Tiverton seconds. Stuart Lord at string five played a closely fought contest but lost 3-0. At four, Phil Allin came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2, while Phil Kemsley playing at three won comfortably 3-0. Similarly at strings two and one, Arnie Searle and Clive Marais won their matches 3-0 — meaning a 4-1 victory for the team, and a 17-5 point haul. The first team lie second in the division — four points behind leaders Sidmouth.
