OKEHAMPTON charity Oke PADS has installed a fifth defibrillator in the town outside Costcutter on Exeter Road.
Pictured are manager Rob Hatten and Zoe Foreman of Costcutter with the lifesaving equipment installed on Friday, February 15.
The equipment is used along with CPR to restart the heart when someone is having a cardiac arrest.
The charity has also installed them outside the 2 Rivers Restaurant on Fore Street, the public toilets on George Street, the fire station on North Road and Gillian’s Curtis Cuts on Crediton Road.
The charity is offering free training sessions each month for anyone over 14. The next will be held at the Ockment Centre on March 6 from 6-8pm and in the church hall in Market Street on April 5 from 7-9pm.
‘We have now trained more than 150 people from the town in how to perform good quality CPR and confidence in using a defibrillator,’ said Joe Rice of Oke PADS.
‘We encourage all members of the community over the age of 14 to attend our free training sessions.’
