THE staff of the NFU Okehampton office are keeping their fingers crossed that they will win a national competition.

The office is one of three finalists for the NFU Best Offices in the Country competition.

Pearl Devaney, Okehampton office manager, said: 'There are hundreds of offices in the country, so to be one of the final three is great. We are chuffed to bits — we are in with as good a chance as the others.

'We were nominated for being that "little bit special" because we have got that special touch,' said Mrs Devaney.

'We go that little bit further to make sure everybody is happy. We take time to listen and find out what the clients need and follow the service through.'

Okehampton staff Simon Whattler, group secretary; Pearl Devaney and secretary Mary Winter will attend the finals which take place on Tuesday, July 16 during a gala dinner in London. John Craven from TV's Country File will present the awards.
