ONE recent lunchtime there was a weird and wonderful sight in the village of Buckland Monachorum.

The children from St Andrew’s Primary School’s before and after school club - Fantastic Fun Club - plus numerous staff were on an ’Odd Socks and Wig Walk’ around the village to raise funds for new equipment.

Everybody was wearing odd socks, a funny hat or a wig and there was much laughter and fun as well as some bemused looks from people in passing cars and the odd tractor! Altogether £72 was raised. Fantastic Fun Club has been running for nearly seven years and is loved by the children who attend and valued by the school and the parents.

The club is running an Easter Holiday Club from Tuesday, March 29 to Friday, April 1 from 7.30am until 6pm each day with various timed sessions available.
