STAFF at a West Devon nursery school are celebrating after achieving an almost perfect Ofsted grading.

Penmoor Nursery School in Yelverton was visited by an Ofsted inspector in September and the report has only recently been published, judging the nursery as outstanding in 16 out of a possible 17 categories.

The nursery is held in Yelverton War Memorial Hall and has 67 children on its roll at the moment but can only hold 26 children at any one time.

Owner of the nursery, Anne-Marie Cooper said: 'We were absolutely over the moon with the result. I've got the most amazing staff who've worked so hard — it is a tribute to them and the parents who have supported us.

'The inspector said she had never been anywhere where so many parents had come up to her, telling her positive things about the nursery.

'This is an amazing, unbelievable grading, particularly for a setting operating in a community hall.'
