Noteworthy battle at Wharf as bands take to the stage . . .

FIVE local bands took to the stage last Tuesday to showcase their talent at Tavistock's Battle of the Bands' first quarter-final.

Aspiring musicians from The Adventures Of, Cankama, Tranzlucent, Heart in one Hand and Sounds Like a Plan performed in front of an audience and judges at the Wharf.

A second quarter-final took place last night (Wednesday) with local bands Alpha Dogs and Icarruss.

The four highest scoring bands from the two nights will go through to the semi-final on Friday, August 15 at 8pm, followed by the final on Saturday, August 16 at 8pm.

Prizes for the winning act include £300 to £500 to spend at a top Plymouth music store, half a day in a top recording studio and a gig as support band with a top international act at the Wharf.
