Tavistock 1
Falmouth 2
BECAUSE of cancellations and bad weather this was the Lambs' first game for almost a month. Despite recent heavy rain Langsford Park was in good condition.
Tavistock welcomed back Andy Parnowski from a lengthy suspension and Ernesettle's Lee Doncaster was paired with Darren Halfyard in attack.
The home side attacked first with Halfyard having a snap shot at goal but it was easily dealt with by keeper Taylor, then Mark Wall's long range drive sailed over the bar.
Falmouth's Mark Rapsey saw his stab at the ball from close range go over the bar before the Lambs took the lead on 20 minutes.
Taylor's kick upfield went unnoticed and play continued but the assistant referee had his flag held up for an infringement. The keeper had gone beyond the area and handled the ball. Referee Volz brought play back to give the Lambs a free kick just outside the box. James Cole's powerful kick gave Taylor no chance as it sailed into the top corner.
The Lambs had chances to increase their lead as first Doncaster worked his way to the byline but could not cut the ball back. It was picked up by Taylor, then Halfyard shot over from six yards with the goal at his mercy.
The second half started with Doncaster shooting over before the visitors got back on level terms after 54 minutes. Parnowski's back pass to keeper Andy Meeds put him under pressure and the ball was only half cleared for it to be sent back into the area low and hard. Cole in his attempt to clear it only succeeded in sending it flying into the net off his knee.
The Lambs were on the defensive as Falmouth searched for their second but a good move out of defence on 63 minutes broke down as Halfyard closed in on goal. Within a minute Falmouth were ahead. Tavistock conceded a free kick wide on the right, Sweet's high cross into the area had Meeds under pressure and it allowed Street to bundle the ball over the line.
Falmouth continued to attack and Parnowski was sent off for deliberate handball with 15 minutes to go. Neither side created another chance in the remaining period and Dave Symons was cautioned for handball on full time.

DESPITE overnight rain the pitch passed a late inspection by the referee. John Gosling returned after missing the Falmouth game to replace Chris Gott who was away over the Christmas period.
It was a great start for the Lambs with Andy Parnowski shooting just over from inside his own half on nine minutes. In the next minute they took the lead — from a throw-in down the right Mark Wall and Chris Kiely worked the ball back to Gosling; his cross-come-shot completely deceived six-foot six keeper Dudley to sail over him and into the net.
Parkway searched for the equaliser and the Lambs were lucky to scramble away a corner after 20 minutes. Wall won the ball in midfield to send Darren Halfyard away on 22 minutes but his shot was pushed around the post for a corner.
Paul Mellor replaced Halfyard on the hour when he could not continue after a heavy challenge just prior to half time. The Lambs held onto their slender lead for 65 minutes when a long ball into the area was met by Dave Waters and his low header squeezed into the bottom corner.
Tavistock almost regained the lead within a minute when Lee Doncaster came inside to go past a defender and the keeper, but shot wide with the Parkway defence scrambling back to cover the goal.
With just 15 minutes to go Parkway went into the lead. As the Tavistock defence appealed for offside Lawton rounded keeper Andy Meeds to slot the ball home.
Tavistock again had a good chance to bring themselves level right on full time, but when Mellor was put through down the right his shot went into the side netting.
l The eagerly awaited Jewson South Western League Cup quarter final at Liskeard on the New Year Bank Holiday fell victim to the weather but there is a local derby at Langsford this Saturday when the Lambs take on Callington in the League, kick-off 2.30pm.
Sunday, South Devon Do Do League O35s, Tavistock Vets v Yealmpton Langsford Park, kick-off 10.30am.
