IN the Tavistock Golf Club's Championship, played more than 36 holes over two days, Alan Gawman become this years club champion with the best gross score of 140.
Winner of the David Walls handicap trophy for the best nett score was George Gawman with nett 139. In the Basil Steer trophy competition Alan triumphed again winning with a gross score of 68; second was Mark Taylor with gross 72 and third was Martyn Moon with gross 74. Peter Kelly topped the medal table with a nett 66 on countback from Kelvin Rogers and Chris Henderson.
In the annual President's Day Stableford scoring was close with Alan Greening coming in with 42 pts on countback from Philip Jury. In third place was Rich Potts. The leading lady player was Jane Hosking with 38 pts, second was Bridget Luckham with 36 pts on countback from Nickly Gawman.
In the Harvey Frost trophy Bridget, together with partner Simon Bridgwater, scored an excellent 40pts to win the trophy. In second place was Lyn Swift and Max Clarke with 38pts on countback from Graham Dennis and Kerry Baker.
In the Ladies Truscott Pittman foursomes Stableford the winning pair were Dawn Phillott and Helen Phipps with 37pts. Runners up were Jayne Wright and Kate Harding.
