A THREE-WAY rugby tournament was held at Okehampton on Sunday between North/Okes, Torrington and Tavistock

North/Okes 28

Torrington 0

NORTH/Okes opened the scoring with Robert Steptoe picking up from the base of a ruck and jinxing his way over the try-line. Conversion by Andrew North.

Just before half-time North scored one himself and duly converted.

The second half saw superbly taken tries from Darcy Heard and Kevin Dennis again, showing the class of this threequarter line up. Conversions by North. Torrington can be proud of their much improved performance from earlier in the season.

North/Okes 34

Tavistock 0

THIS was the first meeting this season between these two teams and was a closer contest than the score might suggest.

Andrew North opening the scoring with a powerful run to the line. Conversions by North.

Kevin Dennis scored the second following another flowing threequarter move. Conversions by North.

North scored his second and with North/Okes opting not to take the additional points for conversions it left the half-time score at 19-0.

The second half saw Robert Steptoe drive his way over the line for his second try. Samantha Robertson and Darcy Heard scored the next two tries which came from flowing threequarter moves, confirming the ability of this team to play flowing rugby.

Thanks were expressed to all the coaches and spectators for making junior rugby the winner of this event.
