THIS was North/Okes' toughest test this year with Sidmouth showing the home team how to ruck and maul.
It took several phases of play before Andrew North managed to find a weakness in Sidmouth's well organised defence to force his way over the line to score North/Okes' first try. The conversion was by North.
The second try was scored by Andrew Fishleigh who, following good forward play, broke from a ruck and crashed his way to the try-line. Conversion by North. Sidmouth came back with two well taken tries.
North/Okes replied with a third try which again came from North who from the 22-metre line took a quick penalty and ran it in virtually unopposed. Conversion by North.
The second half was evenly contested with both teams playing good rugby, James Speak providing excellent support play.
Five minutes before the end the home side scored again from a lineout move which allowed pack leader Will Hawkins to take quick ball from the front of a lineout and drive for the line for a well deserved try. Conversion by North.
The defence of North/Okes' three-quarter line proved to be the undoing of the opposition.
North/Okes' next game will be away to Exeter Saracens on November 16.
