VOTERS in the three wards that make up Tavistock will have a West Devon Borough Council and AV referendum votes next month — but no ballot paper for the town council.

Candidates in the Tavistock north and south wards have been returned unopposed — and the south west ward, which makes up two of the council's 17 seats, failed to attract any nominations.

Elected unopposed in the north ward were: Sue Bailey, Cons; Anne Johnson; Ted Sanders; John Sheldon; Harry Smith; Ashley Tossell; David Whitcomb, Cons.

Elected unopposed in the south ward were: Dick Eberlie, Cons; Mandy Govier, Cons; Jenny Metcalf; Philip Sanders, Cons; John Sellis, Cons; Ted Sherrell; Brian Trew.
