DON'T panic! Everything was under control at the latest dress rehearsal by the Hatherleigh Players as they prepared for their new show.

The amateur dramatic group has been busy rehearsing 'Dad's Army' by Jimmy Perry and David Croft, based on the ever popular television series.

The show is split into three half-hour 'episodes' interspersed with songs of the period performed by vocalists and a pianist.

Chairman of Hatherleigh Players Alan Jones said: 'Things have been going pretty well, we have been rehearsing for a three month period and are now pretty prepared.

'The timing of the show seems just right, what with it being very British and patriotic, and we are performing just a week after the Queen's Jubilee.

'We hope as many people as possible turn out to see it and enjoy themselves.'

The show's first performance was yesterday (Wednesday), but tickets are still available for today's show (Thursday) through to the final performance on Saturday June 16.

Each performance starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from Richard Tidball Insurance on Bridge Street during office hours. They cost £7 for adults and £5 for under 16s.
