A NEW basketball club for anyone interested has been started at Parklands Leisure Centre by OCRA.
The club will help players develop their skills in a fun and challenging way, with sessions attended by players of all ages and abilities.
Club members can give input as to what the sessions should include, and will include plenty of playing time as well as working on individual and team skills.
Sessions are led by an experienced coach who encourages players who learn all aspects of the game rather than a single position during the early development of their game.
All are welcome to come along to Parklands Leisure Centre sports hall on Wednesday evenings to take part. Sessions for ten to 16 year olds run from 7pm to 8pm, with the 16+ session from 8pm to 9pm. Each session costs £2 per person.
OCRA has worked in partnership with Sportivate to develop the club. The new National Lottery initiative forms part of Sport England's mass participation legacy programme, 'Places, People, Play'.
Sportivate plans to capture the excitement of the London 2012 Olympics to get more teenagers and young adults involved in sport.
