TAVISTOCK and District Homeless Trust will receive a boost of £500 thanks to the decision by Plymouth and South West Co-operative not to send Christmas cards this year.

The charity is one of eight to benefit from the decision to donate money to charities instead. Others include Hearing Dogs for the Deaf and Friends of Hannah Rogers School.

Several members of staff have also entered into the spirit of the initiative and have donated money to the Breast Care Units in Plymouth, Exeter and Torbay.
