CHARITY fundraisers in Princetown will be keeping their fingers crossed for a fine, and unseasonably warm night this Saturday, as they camp out to raise money for ShelterBox.
The 'sleep out' will take place on the village green in Princetown, beside the war memorial, and has been organised by High Moorland WI and Friends.
A ShelterBox tent will be on site at the event, which starts at 2pm and will continue until noon on Sunday.
The sleep out, which has been supported by local firefighters and police, is open to all to join, preferably in fancy dress, for as long or short a time as campers wish. Collections will be made with the aim of raising enough to buy at least one ShelterBox to send to disaster victims of last month's earthquake in Haiti.
Future events organised by High Moorland WI include a Sport Relief mile walk, starting at noon on March 20.
Participants will walk from Lord's Café in Princetown to the prison gates and back — entry costs £1 a head — fancy dress preferred, all welcome!
